看到新南幼兒園場地時(shí)，心底是曾劃過一絲低落與失望的。放眼而去，在這廈門島外郊區(qū)的村子里，除了略顯貧瘠的農(nóng)田耕地，便是凌亂無序的鄉(xiāng)村住宅。既沒有豐富有趣的場地信息，也沒有引人入勝的周遭環(huán)境。幼兒園屬于基層民生工程，主要是為了滿足周邊若干自然村內(nèi)學(xué)齡前兒童日漸增長的受教育需求。項(xiàng)目投資也相對拮據(jù)：12個(gè)班級3900平方米的建筑規(guī)模，每平米兩千元出頭的綜合造價(jià)（包含場地、土建、設(shè)備、簡裝等），要能直接交付使用。場地不刺激也好，預(yù)算不寬裕也罷，一頓抓耳撓腮之后，還是得靜下心來想想怎么才能盡量做好這個(gè)不大不小的房子。

The venue is not stimulating, the budget is not rich, after a scratch, or to think about how to do this small house.

位于東寮村的“面相”，與大多數(shù)城郊的自然村兄弟相比，并無二異。留守的人們就著自己的一畝三分地過日子，攢了些錢翻建房子基本遵循“經(jīng)濟(jì)、適用”的原則：橫平豎直、規(guī)規(guī)矩矩。門窗洞口開得隨意，但也符合內(nèi)部功能。至于“美觀”，就根據(jù)各家的條件貼上些閩南特色的紅磚飾面增添些喜慶罷了。這樣成片地仿效建造后，也順理成章地成了一種“普遍語匯”。幼兒園將近四千平米的建筑體量落到村子里，算是史無前例的公共建筑了。它會以何種相貌示人呢？我們并不想在這建一座自說自話的“天外來物”——哪怕幼兒園這種建筑總是被貼上各種“花枝招展”的識別標(biāo)簽。

內(nèi)部空間的材料和色彩以較為純粹、細(xì)膩的白色為主，地面輔以彩色活躍下氣氛。雖與外圍的紅磚對比強(qiáng)烈，但增加了空間的流動性和流暢感。由于造價(jià)有限，公共區(qū)域暫時(shí)沒有做吊頂?shù)念A(yù)算，我們就試著讓裸露的結(jié)構(gòu)梁系靈動輕巧，遷就著內(nèi)部空間兜轉(zhuǎn)環(huán)繞，然后拉扯清各類管線的走位，盡量不讓其有礙觀瞻。應(yīng)該說，這種內(nèi)與外、方與圓、紅與白之間的俏皮反差是有意為之的。我們期待村里的孩子們進(jìn)入房子后的驚喜，讓他們有機(jī)會去感受不同于日常的生活體驗(yàn)。一處真正符合幼兒園空間質(zhì)感的場所。
